How We Support the Fort

The members of the Support Committee are hard at work planning all kinds of things to support the crew of the USS Fort Worth.  You can read in more detail about our events below

HAPPY

HOURS

Each month, we gather to put together care packages for the sailors.  Some months are themed and some are just fun -- but  each month our sailors get a care package of goodies from the Support Committee.

REGATTA

VERSARY

(The Regatta Part)

When we aren't in the middle of a pandemic, we have a live Boat Regatta at Panther Island.  Boats are made from recycled materials and the field is competitive to see who can build the best boat.

REGATTA

VERSARY

(The Anniversary Part)

The Ship was commissioned on September 22 -- so we celebrate each year.  Most years, some of the crew come to Fort Worth and participate in the Regatta, tour Fort Worth, serve the community and get to know our members.  This is an exceptional way to celebrate the commissioning.

CREW

RECOGNITION

When we bring the crew to Fort Worth for the RegattaVersary, we also honor the best of the best.  Junior Sailors of the Quarter receive belt buckles.  Sailors of the Quarter receive custom cowboy hats and the Sailor of the Year is honored with pair of custom boots from M.L. Leddy's Western Wear.
